In Hawaiian culture, the Iwa bird, or Great Frigatebird (Fregata minor), holds significant symbolic meaning. It is often associated with navigation and the sea, reflecting its skillful flight and long-distance travel over the ocean. Additionally, the Iwa bird's presence can symbolize freedom and the power of the natural world, embodying the interconnectedness of nature and culture in Hawaiian traditions.

Koa wood is highly valued for its strength, durability, and beauty. It is often used in traditional woodworking, including the creation of canoes, weapons, and tools. These earrings are laser engraved with Hawaiian Koa wood that is endemic to Hawaii. 

All of my earrings are made with repurposed koa wood, dead koa trees and trees that has fell.

Color and grain my differ slightly. all made from the same piece of wood.
